Hurricane Katrina

I was in New Orleans last week on business and took a couple hours to drive around some of the hardest hit areas of Katrina. It's been nearly one year since it hit, and conditions city wide (where the floods hit) are still very much like this. Absolutely nothing is open, the neighborhoods are 90% abandoned, 1/3 of the people never came back for their belongings, and the whole area is on its way to being forgotten.
